Homanzan 宝満山

Mount Homan, Homanzan 宝満山 (Altitude ~829m), situated at Fukuoka region in Kyushu, Japan.

Did a solo day hike in Dec 2019 at temperature of ~7 degree. The trail is part of Kyushu Nature Trail.

Getting to the trailhead:
Take train or bus to Dazaifu, then take a local bus to Kamado Jinja (竈門神社). Walk up the stairs towards the shrine. Then, turn to the left and follow the path to 宝満山登山道入口, the trailhead.

The hike is filled with lots of big rocks and steps. There are also ropes available for hikers to use for paths that are steeper.

Some of the views along the way.

Hiking in the cooling temperature was refreshing! Didn't have to wear any jacket even though it was only 7 degrees.

There were many big rocks at the peak. Good place to have lunch! Took about 3 hours to complete the trail.

Even though autumn is over, managed to see some autumn leaves at the shrine area.

Learn to age gracefully like autumn leaves..

If you have more time, you can continue the hike to Mt Sangunsan (三郡山).

  1. Thanks for sharing. How much time do you think it would need to get to Mt. Sangunsan instead?
